Kids and Families Matter

Professional, Experienced & Supportive Services

Covid-19 and KAFM Shared Parenting Time

We are currently offering both in-office and off-site shared parenting time for families.

Our office is a pleasant, child friendly environment full of games, toys, books, and activities for all to enjoy.

KAFM Staff are trained and work hard to help make this difficult situation one that is supported and offered in a respectful and relaxing environment.

When assessed as appropriate, KAFM enjoys allowing parents and children to visit familiar places, eating out [outside dining only at this time], and or playing together.  This can include the beach, restaurants, parks, and other agreed upon destinations.

There are certain guidelines that are now required due to Covid-19.

Please find CDC guidelines and KAFM requests below that must be adhered to for shared parenting time to occur.

Personal and Social Activities Personal & Social Activities

Stay home if sick.

Stay home if someone who you live with may be sick or has been exposed to Covid-19.

Families are screened prior to each visit.

Wear masks in public settings [including offices] and when around people who do not live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain [KAFM Staff will let you know when or if masks are ever optional, and you can choose to continue to wear them for your family if you choose].

Children 2 years of age and younger are asked to wear shields that can be made available by staff. KAFM staff will assist parents in teaching and reminding children to wear their masks so to keep themselves and their friends and family safe.

Use social distancing (stay at least 6 feet away from others).

If requesting an offsite outing, before you go, call, and ask what extra prevention strategies they are using, like requiring staff to wear masks. Report this information to your KAFM supervisor for final approval on the destination.

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds when you get home or arrive at a new destination. Always wash your hands for at least 20 seconds after eating or after using the bathroom.

Dining at a restaurant during shared parenting time

Check the restaurant’s COVID-19 prevention practices before you go

Check the restaurant’s website and social media to see if they have updated their information to address any COVID19 safety guidelines.

Before you go to the restaurant, call, and ask if all staff are wearing masks while at work.

Ask about options for outdoor dining. Currently KAFM is only doing outside dining.  Please provide information to KAFM staff prior to family time for final approval.

Ask for options for self-parking to remove the need for a valet service.

Take steps to protect yourself at the restaurant: Wear masks when less than 6 feet apart from other people or indoors.

Take precautions – like wearing a mask as much as possible when not eating and maintaining a proper social distance if you are dining with others who do not live with you.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Maintain a social distance of 6 feet or more in any entryway, hallway, or waiting area.

When possible, sit outside at tables spaced at least 6 feet apart from other people.

When possible, choose food and drink options that are not self-serve to limit the use of shared serving utensils, handles, buttons, or touchscreens.

Clean hands Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds when entering and exiting the restaurant.

If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.

Before using the restroom, make sure there is adequate soap and paper towels or hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.

Thank you for your shared commitment to keeping everyone safe during your time together.
